2011 Chevrolet Cruze The Most Anticipated Compact Car

As the global economy has started to alter itself from the declining phase, many automakers have also started moving seriously towards gaining buyer attention by introducing new vehicles or revamping their existing series. As US automakers get busy in their new endeavor building world class compact cars, the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze is among the most eagerly awaited cars.

This Chevrolet model will compete with the new edition of 2012 Ford Focus along with updated versions of Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Nissan Sentra.

General Motors plans to launch the 2011 Cruze edition in the third quarter of 2010. The company has sufficient time to permit the production of different trim levels before the car is set for sales in the showroom.

The Cruze edition has already received an over whelming response in Asia and Europe, where it is already available for sale. General Motors has confirmed that the US edition will be built in GM’s Lords town, Ohio plant.

Volkswagen Recalls Their 2011 VW Jetta

In yet another recall of the month, German automaker Volkswagen will be recalling their 2011 VW Jetta. We recently reported the recall by Japanese automaker Honda for their minivan crossover 2011 Honda Odyssey. In the latest report from the automotive world we heard that Volkswagen will be recalling their 71,043 2011 VW Jetta in the US. The reason for the recall according to Volkswagen of America has been reported as a wiring problem in the car which could result in automatically shutting off of the vehicle when you use the horn.

The company further elaborated and told that a wiring problem in the car could cause the stalling of engine and the headlights and windshield wipers to turn off when you press the horn or the anti-theft system of the car under some circumstances.

Speaking on the recall, Sheriece Matias, the spokesperson for Volkswagen of US said, “It won’t be a common circumstance, but still we are talking it rather seriously. People don’t have to worry about it and can continue to drive their cars as normal.”

In a statement Volkswagen of US reported that the company has not reported any serious injuries because of the defect. The spokesperson also told that we haven’t got any reports from the customers regarding any problems because of this defect.

In the current wiring arrangement, the horn wing for the car is being cosseted by the same fuse, which is attached to the converter box. So, in case of any short in the horn wiring, there easily could be a short in the converter box, which easily could cause the disconnection from the power supply.

As a solution to the problem, Volkswagen dealers will be reconfiguring the wiring layout of the car and will be separating the wires for the converter box and horn, so as to make them on separate fuses. The date for the start of the recall has not being given yet.

Matias told that around 49,000 2011 VW Jetta cars that will be affected by the recall are with the customers in the US. The remaining cars are either at dealerships or at transits.

The 2011 VW Jettas that are being sold in South America and Canada are also subjected to recall, but we haven’t got any specifics of the numbers of vehicle affected in these nations.
